Intentional movement, breathwork and sound can help us quiet the noise of the overactive mind and release the deeply held tension of unprocessed emotion. Sacred instruments and songs act as an invitation to listen deeply and awaken to our four bodies. These ancient techniques draw us back into right relationship with ourselves in modern times.

Movement

There is a huge difference between stretching a part of the body to relieve tension and practicing yoga postures. When we stretch post-work out we are often hurrying through various movements in hopes of decreasing tension from the activity we just engaged in. However, muscles need much more time to actually release and lengthen. The body will not surrender when our breathing is shallow and our mind is already on to the next part of our day. When we intentionally set aside time to practice yoga, stretching and strengthening our body in mindful ways becomes the main focus. Each posture is designed to bring the body into proper spinal alignment while both strengthening and lengthening the muscles of the body. When you combine deep presence through breath work, meditation, visualization, and active gratitude with yoga postures, profound affects can occur. With a consistent practice, transformation happens in the mind, body, and spirit. Jasper offers many specialty Yoga Classes and Workshops that can be tailored to meet your specific needs— in a private one on one setting or as a private group class.

Breath

Breathing techniques have been utilized throughout human history and are thought to be the foundation of the ancient yoga practices that have been passed down to us today. By simply focusing on slowing down the pace of our breath, we can affect our nervous system in a positive way. Although breath work is an integral part of the yoga practice, it can also be used as a stand alone treatment for chronic stress, anxiety, and fatigue. It is also the primary support tool for an effective meditation practice.

Each exercise is used for a specific affect on the body and mind. Jasper has been practicing and leading these techniques for two decades. She will teach you how to practice these techniques and access the healing that is there for you in every breath.

Breathing techniques:

  • Three part breath or Durya Pranayama

  • Breath of Fire or Kapala Bhati

  • Alternate Nostril Breathing or Nadishodhana

  • Guided Relaxation or Yoga Nidra

Sacred songs and instruments have been traced back thousands of years in many different cultures as a form of therapy for the body, mind, and Spirit. Studies have shown that an hour of sound therapy can reduce tension, anger, fatigue, and a depressed mood. When certain frequencies or tones are played near the body, the sound vibrations cause an alternating compression and relaxation of cells. This is like a massage but on a cellular level.

Jasper has been studying sound healing and using it as a way to reduce stress and promote deeper states of consciousness for her clients for many years. She plays a combination of Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, Solfeggio frequency tuning forks, frame and ocean drums, wooden flutes, and her own voice to create a safe and deeply healing environment.

  • There are many specialty workshops to choose from. Often they require extra set up or equipment. An added fee of $55 covers the additional equipment for most sessions. However, a consultation will be required to assess the total cost of a specific session.

Donation Based Yoga Class

Practice yoga and build community from the safety of your own home! Join me weekly on Zoom for a gentle, earth-centered yoga class. These classes are tailored to meet the needs of the participants that show up each week. Beautiful poetry and guided meditations make these classes feel personal and connected.

At this time I am offering weekly Wednesday morning Zoom Yoga as a donation-based class.
Suggested donation per class is $16. If you would like to join me consistently, I am offering a package of four Zoom classes for $50 ,plus a recording of each weekly class (available for a month).
