Cacao Circle
Ceremonial Cacao
is a tool for both personal and collective healing. Through heartfelt gratitude for the Earth, deeply held intentions for our own lives, and the understanding of our reciprocal relationship with the planet, our experience with cacao can open our heart and transform our life.
A Cacao Blessing
With Love in my heart, Peace in my Soul,
Forgiveness of Self, and Permission to let go,
I pray for the courage, the wisdom, and grace
to live my best life and to step out of the race.
With Gratitude and Presence, I surrender control.
I honor my pain, and the suffering of this world.
Thank you Cacao for sharing with me this moment in time.
With love in my heart, I ask you to be my guide.
Jasper Moontree
“Cacao ceremony is a safe and inviting container for prayer and communion. Jasper is fun, full of life and deeply passionate which makes her a great leader for these special ceremonies. I felt a deep connection to the plant and the beautiful people in attendance. I look forward to joining more of these in the future. I hope to meet you there!”
“I’ve been a regular at the Cacao Circle for several years. Just getting out of the city and into the forest by the creek renews my soul! Paul and Terri have done amazing things with the land: cozy fire pit, luxurious dunny, and a spacious platform for movement, meditations, yoga and other offerings. The people are great to be around, to listen to, and share the magic of cacao with.”
CONNECT THROUGH CACAO
What if you could find your way back to yourself—and to each other—through a single sacred cup?
Ceremonial cacao is more than a plant medicine. It’s a doorway to deeper connection with ourselves, with community, and with the Earth. Through gratitude, intention, and reciprocity, cacao invites us into presence. Whether you’re beginning your day with a personal cacao connection ceremony or gathering in circle with others, the spirit of cacao gently opens our hearts—to ourselves, to each other, to the living world that holds us.
When we gather in community with cacao, something profound happens. We acknowledge our interconnection and interdependence with all of life, the plants, the animals, the elements, as well as our ancestors. We practice holding our grief and our joy together, witnessed and supported. Cacao becomes our ally in this beautiful, necessary work of being human.
Ready to Begin?
If you feel called to experience the transformative benefits of sacred cacao, I invite you to schedule an in-person or virtual session with me. Together, we’ll share a cup and I’ll guide you in incorporating cacao into your everyday life—not as something exotic or separate, but as a loving practice that supports your journey.
Gather Your People
Do you have a special occasion where you long for everyone to be fully present, openhearted, and grateful for life? I would be honored to be your cacao guide and welcome your friends and family into ceremony.
Cacao connection ceremonies are tailored to your unique intention and the reason for your gathering. While these ceremonies are a more modern practice here in the West, indigenous cultures have included cacao in their rituals for thousands of years. Whether you’re celebrating a birth, birthday, or marriage; honoring a transition; or holding space for grief and loss, this ancient medicine offers profound support to the human heart.
What to Expect
I’m passionate about co-creating intentional spaces for deep presence, and I’ll work closely with you to make your gathering truly magical.
Each ceremony includes:
∙ Shared ceremonial cacao, prepared with intention
∙ A sacred altar honoring the elements
∙ A co-created nature mandala as an offering of gratitude to the Earth
∙ Sacred songs and instruments to deepen our connection
This is an invitation to slow down, to feel, to remember what matters. To come home to yourself and to each other, one sacred cup at a time.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Jasper has been educating herself through various training programs for several years. She has completed the Cacao Ceremony Facilitation Certification with Ora Cacao and the Journey with the Mayan Wisdom Project. In October of 2025, she traveled to Guatemala to study El Camino de Cacao with her teacher, Nana Mimi, a fourth generation medicine woman where she was initiated as a medicine woman in the lineage. She is committed to holding ceremony in a way that honors Mayan indigenous wisdom and preserves this way of connecting with the Grandmother spirit, I’x Cacao.
JASPER’S PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH CACAO
I’ll be honest with you: I have always loved chocolate. So when I purchased my first bag of Ora Cacao, I had no idea I was beginning a journey that would transform my life.
My introduction to cacao ceremony came through a shaman named Rosie during a retreat in Costa Rica. As we gathered in circle to meditate on ourselves as children, I tasted ceremonial grade pure cacao for the first time. Mildly sweetened and nothing like the chocolate I knew, it was a revelation. As I slipped into meditation, I felt a subtle warmth and expansiveness blooming in the center of my chest. I couldn’t say if it was the cacao or the sacred space we’d created together, but I knew one thing with certainty: I would continue to explore this medicine.
What I didn’t know was how desperately I would need it.
Not long after that first ceremony, I found myself in one of the darkest periods of my life. My doctor prescribed an SSRI, which I took faithfully for eight months. But when cacao called me back, something shifted. I discovered Ora Cacao and learned about the profound links between steady cacao use and relief from depression. I made a choice: I would wean myself off the pharmaceutical and instead drink a ceremonial dose of cacao every single day.
Each morning became a ritual. I made my cup slowly, with intention. I walked barefoot into my backyard and offered gratitudes for each element, just as Jonas Ketterle, the founder of Ora Cacao, had instructed. Each day, my gratitudes grew more potent. I continued this practice for two years.
One morning, as I sat on the mossy ground cradling my cup, I received a clear insight: it was time to lessen the amount of cacao and instead deepen my other reflective practices—journaling, meditating in nature. I never returned to the SSRI. Instead, I discovered I could hold my grief and my joy simultaneously, honoring both.
The path continued to unfold. I signed up for the Journey, a year-long online study with the Mayan Wisdom Project, which opened me to the richness of Mayan Indigenous wisdom. In October 2025, I traveled to Guatemala to study with my teacher, Nana Mimi, a fourth-generation Mayan medicine woman of the Navichoc Tzutujil lineage. There, I learned to weave the Mayan Cholq’ij calendar and my personal Nahaul into my relationship with the Grandmother spirit, I’x Cacao. I received my initiation as a medicine woman in El Camino de Cacao.
Today, I drink my ceremonial cup just two days a week. I am lighter, happier, and more at peace than I have ever been. I know that those daily moments of presence, deep reflection, and gratitude—paired with the healing properties of this beautiful plant medicine—have been integral to my transformation.
Now, my calling is to share this medicine with others. To create space for cacao to be a helper in my community, just as it has been for me. Not as an escape, but as a companion on the journey toward wholeness.
If you feel called to explore what cacao might offer you, I invite you to join me in ceremony.
